24/7 Hold Lockers at the Main Library
Place Holds
Mount Prospect cardholders can search the catalog at mppl.org or use the MPPL mobile app to find items and place holds.
- You’ll need your MPPL library card number and PIN.
- Choose the location “Mount Prospect Public Library – 24-7 Lockers” from the drop-down menu.
- When your holds are ready, we will notify you via text, email, or phone. Your items will be held for five days.

Item Pickup
The green lockers are located next to the lower-level entrance in the Main Library parking garage.
- Scan your library card, use your barcode in the app, or input your card number and PIN to open the locker door.
- Print a receipt if desired and collect your materials.
- Your materials are all checked out. Please don’t forget to close the door!
Parking Lot Pickup

- When your holds are ready, you will receive an email confirmation.

Park and Pickup
When your holds are ready, come to the parking garage of the Main Library during regular business hours.
- Park in any of the designated “Parking Lot Pickup” numbered spots.
- Once you’re parked in your spot, call the Parking Lot Pickup line at 847-590-3624 to let staff know you are here. You will need to provide us with your name and spot number.
It may take staff a few minutes to collect, process, and deliver your material.
