How do I log in to my account in the new catalog? 

The first time you use the new catalog, log in with your existing library card barcode number and PIN. You will then be prompted to create a username for easy sign in and features like ratings and reviews. Once you have created your username, you can use that with your PIN to log in, or you can choose to continue to use your library card barcode number and PIN — both ways will work. 

I created a username in the old catalog. Can I use that username to log into the new catalog? 

Your old username will not work in the new catalog. You will need to set up a new username when logging in to the new catalog for the first time. 

Why do I need to create a username? 

Your username will be used for some of the new catalog features, including lists and community features like ratings and reviews. 

Can I still log in with my library card and PIN? 

Yes. Once your username is set up, you can continue to log in with your library card number and PIN if you prefer. 

What’s the difference between my PIN and my password? 

Your PIN is the 4-digit number (the last four digits of your registration phone number) assigned when you first received your library card. When logging into the new catalog for the first time, enter this PIN in the Password field. You may then keep it as your password or change it to a new password in My Settings. 

Can I change my password in the new catalog? 

Yes, you can change your password in the new catalog. To change your password: 

• Log into your account. 
• Click on your username in the upper right-hand corner. 
• Click My Settings from the drop-down menu. 
• Click on Password in the menu on the left. 

Your new password must contain both letters and numbers. 

Note: If you change your password in the new catalog, this will change your password/PIN everywhere at the library. This means you will use the new password to sign on to a library computer, Libby/Overdrive, the library app, and anywhere else you previously used your PIN. 

What happened to my borrowing history? 

If you had your borrowing history turned on in the old catalog, it still exists and you can enable your reading history in the new catalog. The first time you log in, there will be an Enable Browsing History button to click. If you miss doing that at your first login, you can follow these steps any time: 

• Log into your account. 
• Click your username in the upper right corner. 
• Click My Settings from the drop-down menu. 
• On the My Settings page, under Account Preferences, click Borrowing History. 
• Check the box next to Your borrowing history is disabled. 
• Click the Save Changes button. 

Your borrowing history will now appear in the drop-down menu in the upper right corner. 

Will my existing holds transfer to the new catalog? 

Yes! Your holds and your place in line will transfer to the new catalog. 

Can I import my existing lists from the old catalog? 

Yes, you can import your existing lists from the old catalog. Titles will be added to your For Later Shelf. To import those lists: 

• Log into your account in the new catalog. 
• Click your username in the upper right corner. 
• Select the For Later Shelf from the upper right-hand menu. 
• Click the Import List Items option. 

Can I still request books from other libraries in the CCS consortium with the new catalog? 

Yes! When you search the catalog, you will initially see Mount Prospect Public Library items. To view items from all CCS libraries and to request them, click the Partner Libraries button to the left of your search results. 

Why am I seeing book reviews and lists from other libraries? 

The catalog is designed to pull together information from members of all participating libraries. This provides a broader range of community-created content than an individual library could provide by itself. You may find that you have a lot of interests in common with someone from another CCS library, or even someone on the other side of the country.
