Government and Legal Information

Mount Prospect Public Library was designated a federal depository for government publications in 1990. Selecting approximately 16 percent of the publications offered to the 1,250 participating libraries nationwide, MPPL provides this information in a variety of formats: print, CD-ROM, microfiche and electronic. A small print collection is on the second floor adjacent to the legal code sets; however, many of the print materials have been incorporated into the reference and circulating collections. Many print sources have migrated to electronic-only formats available through the Web.

Highlights of the collection include:

Print sets of the following:

  • Statutes at Large 1976-present
  • Code of Federal Regulations
  • Federal Register (2 years)
  • United States Reports 1975-present
