Limited catalog services from August 29 through September 2.

Mount Prospect Public Library cardholders will soon have access to more than 180,000 additional items when the Vernon Area Public Library joins our consortium. During the upgrade process, our catalog will have limited functionality from August 29 through September 2, 2025. Full functionality is expected to be restored on September 3. 

What to expect while the catalog is limited: 

  • You can search the catalog, but item availability may be out of date. 
  • New holds cannot be placed. However, any holds you currently have will remain, and you will not lose your place in the holds queue. Existing holds will still be available for pickup during the transition period. 
  • Items cannot be renewed. 
  • Materials may be returned, but nothing will be due during this period. 
  • Items can be checked out in person, but please have your library card or barcode with you. 
  • Items returned to the library will not be checked in until after September 2. (Remember, we’re fine-free!) 
  • New library cards cannot be issued and existing accounts cannot be updated. 
  • The library app will have limited functionality; searching and My Account will be unavailable. 

During this time, Libby by OverDrive e-books and many of our e-resources will still be available. Some digital content may not be accessible, including Explore More Illinois, Hoopla, Kanopy, and LinkedIn Learning.
