Come out and play! 

November is International Games Month, a celebration that evolved from International Games Day, an attempt to set the world record of people playing the same game simultaneously in libraries around the world. This month you can participate in a variety of programs that continue to celebrate the educational, recreational, and social value of all types of games and the way they help to bring communities together.  

CheckMates Meetup

Best for ages 7-17 
November 23, 2-3:30 p.m. | No registration required. 
Join other chess fans for a mini lesson and guided instruction to sharpen your skills at 2 p.m., or just stop by for a match at 2:30 p.m.!  

Fall Bingo | Bingo de otoño 

For families 
Friday, November 1 | 6 p.m. | Registration required.  
Play alongside friends and family at South Branch for a chance to win fun prizes! 

Puzzle Swap

Monday, November 11 | No registration required. 
Bring a puzzle, take a puzzle! Bring in puzzles you’ve completed before to exchange for some new designs, while supplies last.  

Jigsaw Puzzle Competition

For teens and adults 
Monday, November 11, 6:30 p.m. | Registration required. 
Puzzle solo or gather a team of up to four people and put your jigsaw puzzle skills to the test for a puzzling good time! Or just stop by and watch the competition unfold! 

Night Off? Game On! Board Game Swap

For ages 18+ 
Tuesday, November 12, 7 p.m. | Registration required.  
Swap your gently-used board games with other gaming enthusiasts! We’ll also make some simple games available for play at the event. 

Teen Game Night: Giant Games 

Wednesday, November 13, 4:30 p.m. | Registration required.  
Bring your friends and join us as we play oversized versions of our favorite games like Jenga and Uno! 

The Untold Story Behind Mahjong

Thursday, November 14, 7 p.m. | Registration required. 
Learn about the history and cultural significance of the ancient game of mahjong with Yvonne Wolf of Chinese Intercultural, LLC.
