Mount Prospect Public Library is seeking a Full Time Youth Services Assistant Department Head with a solid foundation in collection development and a passion for technology to join our Management Team. The Youth Services Department has sixteen fun, creative team members who provide services to children from birth to age 11 and their parents and caregivers.
Duties: Oversees collection development for the department and develops the department’s technology vision. Supervises the collection specialist librarian, technology librarian and part-time desk staff. Oversees public desk training and ensures the department maintains a high level of customer service. Hires, coaches and evaluates staff. Serves as in-charge for the Library.
Required: Must have a Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school with at least five years progressively responsible library experience in youth services including two years in supervisory role.
