Deputy Director for Resources and Staff Development/Training

Seeking a dynamic and innovative library leader to work with Executive Team to manage a busy suburban public library located in NW Chicagoland area. Successful candidate will oversee Collections and Staff Development/Training for the Library. Ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to excellent Collections and Staff Development/Training. Will hold and voice a strong appreciation and understanding of non-public departments and public service. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department managers, all levels of employees, staff committees, community groups, and residents is expected. Excellent project management skills, problem solving, communication skills, and operational management skills are needed. Required: MLS from ALA accredited library school. Progressively responsible management experience in a public library. Minimum of seven years of management and administrative experience. $66,300 annual salary. IMRF benefit position. Youth Assistant – Youth Services Department

Part-time position available. The Youth Assistant is responsible for providing reference and readers advisory services to children, parents, and caregivers. Experience with children and computers required. Bachelor’s degree required. $14.65 hourly pay.

Schedule (average of 12 hours per week):
Every Monday   5 pm to 9 pm or 6 pm to 10 pm

Rotation A:
Friday  5 pm to 9 pm or 6 pm to 10 pm
Sunday   noon to 5 pm

Rotation B:
Saturday   9 am to 5 pm

Circulation Assistant – Circulation Services Department

Part-time position available. Major duties include staffing service desk and related circulation duties. Customer service experience highly desirable. Computer skills required. High school diploma required. Required to pass a skills exercise on the alphabetical and numerical arrangement of library materials. Bilingual a plus. $11.55 hourly pay.

Schedule:
Wednesday and Friday   5 pm to 10 pm
Weekend rotation

Security Officer – Substitute

Substitute position available. Individual will patrol the Library facility and grounds as well as assisting In-Charge staff with security enforcement. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and experience dealing with the public. High school diploma required. Some college preferred. Computer competency required and education, training or certification in security or law enforcement is a plus. Flexibility to report to work on short notice. $18.00 per hour.

Schedule to fill in as needed during the following hours:
Monday through Friday   8:45 am to 10:30 pm
Saturday   8:45 am to 5:30 pm
Sunday   11:45 am to 5:30 pm
