Voting for the 2024 Presidential General Election is Tuesday, November 5. Ensure you are registered to vote by making a voting plan. The deadline to apply for a mail ballot is five days before an election, and early voting will take place October 21 through November 4 at the Mount Prospect Village Hall, 50 S. Emerson St.

The website of the Cook County Clerk’s office will help you determine whether you are registered to vote, obtain a sample ballot, and find your polling place. Stop by the Research desk at the Main Library to get help accessing information from the Cook County Clerk’s office or if you need assistance completing online voter registration.

Be an informed voter by accessing quality resources with your library card. Find election coverage and endorsements and fact check and research candidates by accessing national and local newspapers — including the Chicago Tribune, the Daily Herald, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post — online with your library card.

Additional resources to help you make an informed voting plan can be found on our online Voter Resources guide.
