Woven Together: One Town, One Day, One Read 

The Mount Prospect Public Library Woven Together Community Read initiative brings together children and educators  to celebrate great works of literature and encourage a love of reading.  The library offers a variety of activities to support this village wide experience. 

Programs

Outdoor Community Read Storytime at Pocket Park  

Wednesday, October 28, 10-10:30 a.m.

Join us at Pocket Park for a special storytime featuring our Community Read title, Blue Sky, White Stars by Sarvinder Naberhaus, illustrated by Kadir Nelson. Each attendee will receive their own copy of the book to keep after the program. 

Virtual Community Read Author Visit 

Wednesday, October 28, 7-7:30 p.m. 

For children through grade 5 along with their family. 

Join us for an exclusive author visit as Sarvinder Naberhaus joins us live via Zoom to read aloud her beautiful and inspiring book that celebrates the iconic imagery of the United States. She will also take questions from participants. Each attendee will receive their own copy of the book to keep after the program.

Activities 

Discover fun activities for children with themes from Blue Sky, White Stars.  Available at Youth Services and South Branch. MPPL cardholders may contact Youth Services (YouthServ@mppl.org) to arrange for Parking Lot Pickup.
