LET’S GET PHYSICAL: Shake off the COVID-19 funk on Saturday (Sept. 19) from 1-3 the Health & Fitness Fair held outdoors at Randhurst Village (on the boulevard across from Orangetheory Fitness – 1032 Center Dr.). The free activities include the following: family fitness and stretch classes, chair massages, demonstrations, work from home tips: posture, work stations, stress relief, information from Northwest Community Healthcare Health & Wellness, and great giveaways.

VOTER REGISTRATION DAY @ MPPL: Make sure your voice is heard in the Nov. 3 election. The League of Women voters of Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove will host a registration event from 3 – 6 p.m. outside the Main Branch of Mount Prospect Public Library (10 S. Emerson St.). The League can assist community members in registering to vote online via a smartphone or iPad that they will provide. Required documents include an Illinois driver’s license or state ID and the last four digits of the social security card. The League will also have deputy voter registrars available to register voters using paper forms. Community members must bring two forms of identification, one of which has their current address. Neither of these forms of identification need to have a photo on it.

CONVERSATIONS IN ENGLISH: Practice your conversational skills virtually with native English speakers on Thursday (Sept. 24) from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Residents of Mount Prospect or Elk Grove Township are eligible. Pre-registration is required. For more info, call 847/506-4930.

electronic recyclingELECTRONICS RECYCLING: Drop off unwanted electronics on Wednesday (Sept. 23) from 10 a.m. – Noon at Mount Prospect Public Works facility (1700 W. Central Rd.). Items left outside of designated hours will not be collected. The last day for this service is Wednesday (Oct.28).

FALL CLASSIC GOLF OUTING: Enjoy a fun day full of contests, raffle prizes, lunch, socially distant happy hour and more on Thursday (Sept. 24) at the Mt. Prospect Golf Club (600 S. See-Gwun Ave.). Registration is 10 a.m., with an 11 a.m. Shotgun Start. The cost is $150 per person or $550 for a foursome, which includes a golf cart, boxed lunch, all snacks/beverages on the course, and the happy hour. To register, email or call 847/832-0480.


IWLA FUNDRAISER: Enjoy the outdoors on Saturday (Sept. 19) from Noon – 2 p.m. or 3 – 5 p.m. at Izaak Walton League (1841 S River Rd. DP.). The Turkey Party Fundraiser includes a turkey raffle with the winners picking up their birds right before Thanksgiving on Nov. 21.Turkeys are 10-12 pounds. Outdoor seating is a maximum of 50 people, safely distanced per IDPH Guidelines. Tickets are $8 and include one pulled pork sandwich and a beverage. Reservations are required by visiting

STROLL & SHOP SOIREE: Set aside Wednesday (Sept. 23) from 4:30 – 8 p.m. at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre (111 W. Campbell St. AH.). This year’s soiree features shopping, sampling stops and live entertainment on a route through downtown Arlington Heights benefiting Metropolis Performing Arts Centre.
