LIBRARY CLOSED: The Main and South Branches of the Library will be closed on Monday (May 31). Although the buildings are closed, you still have 24/7 access to conduct research with our online resources, register for upcoming programs, and renew items and place holds at www.mppl.org. Check out an eBook or audiobook through OverDrive at any time. The Main Branch (10 S. Emerson St.) will reopen on Tuesday (June 1) at  9 a.m.  The South Branch (1711 W. Algonquin Rd.) reopens on Tuesday (June 1) at 11 a.m.

HONORING OUR VETERANS: Remember those who fought for our freedom on Monday (May 31) at 10 a.m. The VFW 1337 and American Legion Post 525 will present a Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Bandshell, Lions Park (411 Maple St.). SUMMER READING @ MPPL: Read, explore and create with the library this summer and discover a world of fun. This year’s theme is “Reading Colors Your World.” The all ages program runs from Tuesday June 1 through Sunday August 15. STREET RESURFACING: The Village of Mount Prospect follows a comprehensive annual street resurfacing program to maintain 136 miles of Village-owned street and alleys. This year, over 7 miles of Village streets will be resurfaced. The program also repairs damaged sidewalks, curbs, and utility structures in the public right-of-way. If work is planned for your street this year, a Resident Information Bulletin will be placed on your door prior to work beginning. A project location map, a list of streets to be resurfaced, and weekly progress reports can be found at www.mountprospect.org/resurfacing.
