YOUR VOICE, YOUR VOTE: Cast your vote early in the Consolidated Election on Tuesday (April 6). Registration for early voting takes place on Sunday (March 28) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.in the Community Room of Mount Prospect Village Hall (50 S. Emerson St.). COVID SURVEY SCAM: The FTC, Division of Consumer and  Business Education has a new warning: People across the country are reporting getting emails and texts asking them to complete a limited-time survey about the Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca vaccine and there may be one for Johnson & Johnson, too. In exchange, people are offered a free reward, but asked to pay shipping fees. If you get an email or text like this, STOP.  It’s a scam.  Don’t click on any links or attachments. Doing so could install harmful malware that steals your personal information without you realizing it. Never give your bank account, credit card or personal information to someone who contacts you. If you get an email or text that asks for your personal information that you think could be a  scam, tell the FTC at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/?pid=B. BUNNY PHOTOS: Enjoy a springtime outing on Saturday (March 27) from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Friendship Park Conservatory (395 Algonquin Rd. DP). Have a 15-minute photo session with the Easter Bunny in the lush indoor Atrium. One family will  be allowed in the Atrium at a time to ensure a safe and fun visit. The cost is $10 for a session. Masks can be  removed for the photo. Enter for a chance to win a home-grown Easter Lilly. Reservations are required. Call 847/298-3500 x 403 to reserve a time-slot.

FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT: Gather up your kiddos on Saturday (March 27) from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and head over to Woodland Trails Park (1500 E. Euclid Ave. MP) to follow clues from the Easter Bunny and find colorful eggs hidden around the park. Enjoy a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny and a goody bag to take home for each child. Bring your own basket for collecting eggs and a personal camera for your Easter Bunny photo. The cost is $15 per child. For more info, call 847/255-1200.

REGISTER FOR RUN: Plan for the Mt. Melas Adventure Run on Saturday (April 17) by completing the $30 early bird registration now through Wednesday (March 31). Test your limits with this fun and challenging 5K run at Melas Park (1500 W. Central Rd.). Timeslots are every 30 minutes starting at 8 a.m. Registration prices increase closer to race day: $35 from April 1- 15, $40 on race day (April 17). Have fun with friends and family. Team registration is $200 for up to 10 people. Team registration deadline is April 1. Register online at www.mppd.org.

—-LONG GROVE EGG HUNT: Enjoy a different venue on Saturday (March 27) from noon – 4 p.m. when historic Long Grove hosts its spring family tradition. The event will take place in Brother’s Field (344 Old McHenry Rd.) Families must register at www.longgrove.org. Bring your own baskets for children to collect their eggs, and take a picture with the Easter Bunny, who will be behind a plexiglass wall.   They will receive a goody bag and a take-home craft. All participants must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Following the egg hunt, attendees can walk throughout town for a Jelly Bean Hunt with participating merchants. Children can guess the number of jelly beans in the jars and return their guess cards to the Long Grove Visitors’ Center (308 Old McHenry Rd.). Children will be  given a treat (while supplies last) and adults will be entered to win a prize donated by the participating merchants.
