ELECTION INFO VIA EMAIL: Cook County voters can receive important election information in their email inboxes directly from election authorities through a new tool established by the office of County Clerk Karen Yarbrough. Any registered Cook Country voter can sign up for notifications regarding general election information, polling place changes, election day details and more. Emailing official election mailers and polling place change postcards rather than using the U.S. Postal Service will save residents’ tax dollars. Other vendors sell gourmet items that add pizzazz to your summer entertaining. MP BIKE CLUB: If bicycle riding is your new favorite exercise in the time of COVID, consider a membership in the Mount Prospect Bike Club. The next ride is Sunday (Aug. 23) 8 a.m., and is approximately 20-30 miles. Cyclists meet at Starbucks (100 W. Northwest Hwy.) AMC THEATERS TO OPEN: AMC will reopen its first wave of suburban movie theaters on Thursday, Aug. 20, with more to follow in the next two weeks. On slate to open are AMC Streets of Woodfield, AMC Village Crossing 18, AMC Hawthorn 12, AMC South Barrington, AMC Oakbrook Center, AMC Yorktown, AMC Northbrook Court 14, AMC Naperville 16 and AMC Crestwood. AMC Randhurst has not announced a reopening yet.
