When Hailey and Claire spend their last summer together, they find a beautiful mermaid named Aquamarine in a pool after a big storm. Aquamarine left her six sister to find love on land. She then falls in love with a boy named Raymond. Raymond then falls in love with her after they had a date. Aquamarine began to dry up, and Hailey and Claire quickly bring her back to the sea. Aquamarine makes it. At the end of summer, Raymond goes off to college and Claire move to Florida. Claire then sees Raymond at the beach in Florida and she also sees Aquamarine. Hailey and Claire know Aquamarine is still swimming out there.

In If You Find Me, the main character Carey lives within a national forest questioning and blocking the fact if she is real or not. Then Carey and Jenessa (her sister) find out that their mom disappears, but then is found by her father. In this book, Carey tries to figure out why her mother left her and to keep her own secrets to her as well.
