Babymouse Monster Mash by Jennifer and Matthew Holm

Mouse

The Babymouse graphic novel series is enjoyable for grades 2-4; Monster Mash is a great read for October! Babymouse is going to have a monster mash of a Halloween party at her house after school. The only problem is… she has no idea what to dress up as. And, the pesky boys say that she has to dress up pretty and not scary like she wants. Also, Felicia, the mean little cat in her grade, invited herself and now everyone wants to come. What will Babymouse wear? And, will Felicia ruin her party? Felicia has a few tricks of her own waiting for Babymouse.

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez

Love in the Time of CholeraLove in the time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez:

For more than fifty years, Florentino Ariza has waited for the woman of his dreams.  Unfortunately, Fermina Daza has forgotten all about him a long time ago, moving on with her life and marrying a wealthy doctor.  But when her husband dies, the now old Fermina finds herself besieged again by the suitor of her youth.  This is a wonderful novel that I would highly recommend, Márquezis a master of the written word and truly draws you into his world. Love in the Time of Cholera is a story that you’ll have a hard time putting down.
