2019 Income Tax Forms and Information
The Mount Prospect Public Library has a limited number of basic 1040 federal and Illinois income tax forms available for distribution. Additionally, assistance with printing/photocopying of other forms and publications can be obtained by request at the Research Services Desk on the second floor. VITA: (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)
Offers free tax help to people who make low to moderate income; who are 60 years of age and older; and for those with limited English—speaking skills who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. Sites also provide access to computers for online filing. Appointments are required so call ahead. For more information: VITA.

IRS Free File program provides free tax preparation software and electronic filing to taxpayers with an adjusted gross income of $69,000 or less. Some offer the program in Spanish and also offer state returns for free.

AARP Tax-Aide

Village of Mount Prospect
Mount Prospect Human Services Dept. provides free income tax assistance for those 60 years of age and over. Trained AARP volunteer counselors will assist in preparing Federal and State tax forms (standard forms), Real Estate Senior Exemptions and Tax Freeze for Seniors on Thursday and Friday mornings beginning February 5 through April 9. Appointments are required: call 847/870-5680.
Note: Appointments on March 4, March 5 and March 12 will take place at the Mount Prospect Public Library.
Wheeling Township
Free senior tax assistance will be provided by trained AARP tax counselors on Fridays beginning February 7 and running through April 3. Appointments are required. For more information, call 847/259-7730. All returns will be filed electronically.
