It’s a Great Time For Lower Fines

new finesGood news! To better serve patrons, we’ve lowered fines on many items.

All Youth kits will check out for 3 weeks, and all will have fines of 10 cents per day. The exceptions to this new rule are Science-to-Go, STEAM, and Travel Kits, which will have a $1/day fine.

In addition, most items now allow a second renewal, as long as no one has the item requested. Art prints can still only be renewed once.

For more information, call 847/253-5675 or ask a Circulation staff member.

The Discovery Zone is Coming!

dzoctober152014School-age kids will soon encounter a high-tech, STEM-focused area for interacting, learning, and playing! In the Discovery Zone, kids in 1st – 5th grades can explore the science all around them. A large audio-video console, iPad tables, movable furniture, an IdeaPaint wall, and a multi-colored display wall will let kids engage with the world and with each other. Topics will be updated frequently and will let kids find out about weather, space, simple machines and more.

The Discovery Zone should be open for you to explore by the end of 2014.
