The Mount Prospect Public Library continues to take steps to help limit the spread of COVID-19. As a preventive health measure, the Main Library and South Branch have canceled all programs, events, and meetings March 13–31. This is in response to the World Health Organization declaring a global pandemic and public health officials advocating social distancing and limiting public gatherings.
Our actions are guided by available science and information from health and infectious disease experts, and the safety of our patrons and staff is our highest priority.
At this time, the Main Library and South Branch are open for regular service. Behind the scenes, the Building Services team is taking special care to clean highly touched areas of the library. Plus, no new fines will be accrued from March 12 through March 31.
You can help:
- Stay home and take care of yourself if you are sick (or your child).
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
- Cover coughs and sneezes.
- Respect social distancing (keeping 6 ft. away from each other).
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to promote the safest environment at the library.
