South Branch Reopens to Public

South Branch reopens today with capacity limits. Patrons may check out materials, as well as use scanning, printing, and copying services. No computer services are available at this time.

For contactless options, the library also offers Parking Lot Pickup.

New Hold Lockers Unveiled at MPPL

The library announces the addition of Hold Lockers for convenient 24/7 material pickup available to Mount Prospect Public Library cardholders. The green lockers are located outside the lower-level entrance of the Main Library parking garage. The library holds items for five days.

To use the service, patrons may choose the lockers as a pickup location when placing items on hold using the MPPL app or website. The user receives an email, text, or phone notification when materials are ready for pickup from the lockers. Users will need to input their library card number and pin on the touch screen or scan their barcode using the app to open the locker door to access items. Materials may be in multiple lockers, depending on number of items and size.

Some items may not be eligible for pickup from hold lockers, including interlibrary loan materials or larger items.

South Branch Temporary Closure

South Branch (1711 W. Algonquin Rd.) will be temporarily closed January 3-7. The Main Library remains open. South Branch shares space with the Village of Mount Prospect’s Community Connections Center, which will be closed for two weeks as a result of rising COVID-19 cases.

Patrons who regularly use South Branch are encouraged to pick up materials at the Main Library until further notice, including using Parking Lot Pickup. Check www.mppl.org for updates.
