Program Librarian-Supervisor – Fiction/AV/Teen Department

Come join a department offering friendly and expert popular materials service to adults and teens! Duties include coordination of adult programming, staff supervision, scheduling a busy department, collaboration with teen programmers, oversight of Homebound service, and staffing the public desk.  With the Department Head and Assistant Department Head, this full-time position provides leadership for the Fiction/AV/Teen Department.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, flexibility, effective communication skills, and a strong affinity for popular materials. A master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a public service department. Event/program planning experience and supervisory experience are preferred. Day hours (9 am to 5 pm) with one evening shift per week and participation in the Friday evening and weekend rotations. $51,500 annual pay. IMRF position.

Fiction/AV/Teen Assistant – Fiction/AV/Teen Department

Part time position available, average 17 hours per week.  The Fiction/AV/Teen Assistant staffs a busy popular materials service desk serving both adults and teens, and works on additional tasks and projects. Extra tasks include assisting librarians with programming for teens (and possibly adults as well); scheduling flexibility and an enthusiasm for working with teen patrons are desired. Bachelor’s degree required. $14.94 per hour pay.

Monday   2 pm to 6 pm
Tuesday   2 pm to 6 pm
Thursday  2 pm to 6 pm
Friday   4 pm to 8 pm

Participation in weekend rotation (roughly 1 in 10)
Saturday   9 am to 5 pm
Sunday   12 pm to 5 pm
