Readers’ Advisor – Fiction/AV/Teen Department

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about connecting people with popular materials!  The Fiction/AV/Teen Department at the Mount Prospect Public Library has an opening for a part-time Readers’ Advisor.  Working with other advisory staff, this position will staff a busy popular materials desk serving adult and teen patrons; talk with library users about their reading choices; promote collections through lists and displays; select fiction books and other formats to be added to the collection; facilitate services for area book groups; and lead Library book discussions.  The successful candidate will be friendly, detail-oriented, and flexible.  Minimum three years readers’ advisory experience required. Hourly pay $18.44.  This position is eligible for paid time off benefits and IMRF retirement plan. Bachelor’s degree required.

Part-time, average 25 hours per week
Monday through Friday: noon to 5 pm
Participation in Friday night rotation
