Robert Jordan

Robert Jordan author photoRobert Jordan was born James Oliver Rigney, Jr. in Charleston, South Carolina on October 17, 1948.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from The Citadel in 1974, and served two tours of duty in Vietnam, earning numerous medals.  Jordan became famous with the publication of his best-selling Fantasy series, The Wheel of Time, which chronicles a magical battle between the forces of light and of darkness in a desperate and complex world.  Jordan was working on the twelfth title in the series when he died on September 19, 2007.
