Richard LeMieux was a self-made man with his own successful company. At the age of 60, a time at which he thought he’d be planning for retirement, he lost everything. He fell into a deep depression and nearly committed suicide. The next two years were spent living out of his van and eating breakfast at the Salvation Army. A featured title of the 2009-2010 Suburban Mosaic program, Breakfast at Sally’s: One Homeless Man’s Inspirational Journey offers sensitive descriptions of the people LeMieux meets and gives a greater understanding of the growing problem of homelessness.
