Most folks know David Byrne as the curious lead singer of the Talking Heads. Remember him? He wore a funny suit and sang about “Burning Down the House.” When the Talking Heads broke up in ’91 Byrne went solo. He has since put out nine studio albums plus miscellaneous scores, soundtracks, live albums and remixes. Byrne continually funnels categorically unruly music to the masses through his record label, Luaka Bop. His exploration of world music can also be found on his album Look Into the Eyeball. Byrne lets Afro-cuban rhythms dance with soul-filled strings and a bit of funk on a Brazilian dance floor. When Byrne isn’t making music he is exploring other artistic mediums.
