eiffelFRENCH TRIVIA NIGHT: Support community activities and programs sponsored by the Sister Cities Commission on Friday (Jan. 23) at 7 p.m. at a French trivia game in the Village Hall Community Room (50 S. Emerson St.) Celebrate Mount Prospect’s French American connection! Bring a snack, beverage, and a friend. Advance tickets are $10/person or $12 on the day of the event. Students 17 years-old and younger pay only $5, but must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets may be purchased at these Mount Prospect locations: Busse’s Flowers & Gifts (100 E. Northwest Hwy.,) or StayFit Physical Therapy (127 W. Prospect Ave.)

HARPER CHAMBER MUSIC FEST: Enjoy classical chamber music performed by Harper College music department faculty on Saturday (Jan. 24) at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center on the college’s main campus (1200 W. Algonquin Rd., PAL.) Artistic Director Gregory Clemons and Conductor John Clemons lead the musicians as they perform works by Schubert, Paganini and others. Tickets range from $10-$15. ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS HOLD OPEN HOUSES: The community is welcome to attend Open Houses on Sunday (Jan. 25) at St. Raymond School (300 S. Elmhurst Ave.) from 10:30 a.m. – Noon. THE CUBS AT THE CHAMBER: Find out what Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts has planned for the team’s future on Tuesday (Jan. 27) from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at a luncheon held at Avalon Banquets (1905 E. Higgins Rd. EGV.) The luncheon is sponsored by the Greater O’Hare Chamber of Commerce, as well as the chambers from Mount Prospect, Rolling Meadows, Des Plaines, Elk Grove, Hoffman Estates, and Itasca. DRUG DISPOSAL: The MP Police Dept. has received a grant from CVS Pharmacy to install a Drug Collection Drop Box. The drop box will be located in the lobby of the Police Dept. (112 E. Northwest Hwy.) and will provide residents with a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired medications including controlled substances. It will also help the Village prevent the contamination of local landfills and water supplies. For more info, call 847/870-5656.
