Join us for the Teen Book Discussion of The Rules of Survival on Monday, October 15

Do you dare to read just for the fun of it? Teen Read Week is a time to find out how the Library can help you take advantage of reading in all its forms — books and magazines, e-books, audiobooks, and more.

Start the celebration of Teen Read Week by discussing The Rules of Survival by Nancy Werlin and discover what else lurks at the Library! In The Rules of Survival, seventeen-year-old Matthew and his two younger sisters live a life of unpredictable abuse at the hands of their mentally unstable mother. Written as a letter to his sister Emmy, this novel tells the gut-wrenching, yet hopeful, story of an older brother struggling to protect those he loves.  Teens in grades 6 – 12 can come to the Library on Monday, October 15 to discuss what they think about The Rules of Survival.  The discussion starts at 4 p.m. and snacks and refreshments will be served!

The discussion is also a part of Book Crossing, the Library’s transcontinental book discussion in partnership with our Sister City Library in Sèvres, France.
