So, there has been a lot of buzz about Veronica Roth’s final book in the Divergent trilogy, Allegiant. It hits book shelves at the end of the month and everyone is being very tight lipped about what happens to Tris and Four, despite an accidental early shipping of the novel to some very lucky people. Just today, Amazon announced that Allegiant is outselling The Hunger Games in its first month of preorders. It seems that we may be seeing the next blockbuster series, and one has to wonder if the story will really end with Allegiant? Click here for a really great interview on Vulture.com with Veronica Roth, where she talks about the series ender and what has changed in her life since publishing Divergent three years ago.
Be sure to also join us at the Library for a discussion of Divergent, the first book in the trilogy, on Monday, October 14, from 3 – 4 p.m. You will have a chance to talk to other teens about the book and get new ideas and perspectives. It’s also a great way to celebrate Teen Read Week (10/13-10/19) and the Library’s Book Crossing program, since Divergent is the 2013 American Book Crossing title. Click here to register in advance for the discussion.
