I liked that this book could be fun at the same time it showed Violet dealing with real problems. And what a great first line! (“For the record: I did not mean to send my two half sisters to the emergency room.”)

I loved this book too. I did not realize this was the sequel to Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie (which I still need to read). I think you all will enjoy this too.

I’m glad you enjoyed Savvy. I agree with you that I would not want a savvy where anything bad happened. I don’t think I would want to cause hurricanes or electrical outages because that would make life awfully dangerous. I think being able to heal people would be nice.

I have read Savvy too and I think it is interesting that Mibs savvy a lot calmer than most people in her family. I also wonder why Mibs family has more obvious savvy’s than most other families. If I had a savvy I would want one where nothing too bad happened because Mibs fainted and one of her brothers caused a hurricane.

I’m a big fan of Neil Gaiman too, and I really liked the Graveyard Book. He can paint a vivid picture in your minds eye, I also enjoyed listening to it on audio book, he does a good job reading it, something not all authors can do. ~ Chris

I’m a fan of most of Cornelia Funke’s work, but I think that “The Thief Lord” is my favorite. I also listened to it, and I agree that Simon Jones does a fantastic job; a lot of great books have great audio renditions, that give a unique experience. Another of Funke’s books that is a great audio book is inkheart, read by Lynn Redgrave.
