Printed tax forms delayed

The government's printing of many forms was delayed pending the approval of the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act of 2010.

We expect that some state and federal materials should be available at local public libraries soon, but do not have an exact date. The Mount Prospect Post Office will no longer have state or federal printed tax forms available.

You may access some IRS forms online.  You may also request IRS forms and publications to be delivered by mail or call 800-829-3676 to place your order.

Illinois forms and publications are available at the Illinois Department of Revenue.  To receive assistance by phone, please call 800 732-8866 or 217 782-3336. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Our TDD (telecommunication device for the deaf) number is 800 544-5304.  IDOR also has a Business Hot Line that helps meet the needs of businesses and tax professionals. The Business Hot Line is available at 217 524-4772, Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.

Local IRS offices can be located online.  They do not provide live phone assistance at any location's phone number, but you may call 800-829-1040 for individual tax information.

Federal 2010 estimated tax vouchers and Illinois 2010 estimated tax vouchers are available online too.

Seniors 65+ can schedule an appointment for tax preparation by contacting Human Services at the Village (847-870-5680). Non-residents are eligible too – this is a shared effort between MPVH and AARP.
