Frustrated when you can't reach a live customer service representative at Company ABC?  There are two online sources to retrieve mostly toll-free phone numbers for many of the major companies and service organizations, as well as the steps to expect in the automated attendant's menu, average wait times, and user ratings.

Both sites are monitored by actual callers who share their experiences and tips to reach a live staffperson.  Other suggestions to keep your waiting times low and receive quality service were noted today in the Chicago Tribune.

Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs

The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs assists veterans, their dependents and survivors in obtaining the benefits they are entitled to under the laws of the United States, and the State of Illinois or any other governmental agency, through its forty-three Veterans' Services Offices located statewide; to evaluate and approve veterans' education and training programs available at colleges, universities and vocational training centers in Illinois, to provide skilled nursing and domiciliary care for eligible veterans; and administer State grants and benefits to eligible Illinois veterans.

Executive Network Group

The ENG's (Executive Network Group) works to network and build professional relationships among active members, ENG alumni, employers, executive recruiters and other service providers and support groups.

ENG draws membership from a three-state area, and offers a pool of management talent for both interim consulting projects and full-time positions. They assist members in their job search activities by facilitating networking among people dedicated to filling jobs, advancing careers and satisfying the needs of recruiters and employers.

The Tax Year 2010 First Installment Tax Bill Mail Date is 1/31/11: Due 4/1/11

  A law recently passed by the Illinois Legislature changed the First Installment due date for the Tax Year 2010 property taxes to April 1.  This will be a one-time change and will revert back to March 1 in following years. 

You may pay your taxes at any of 400 Chase Bank locations, by mail, or online.
