Stone Soup retold by Marcia Brown

Stone Soup Hey, I just  heard of this cool website and I totally love it! There is so much to do on this site! The book that I read (and finished today) is called Stone Soup, retold by Marcia Brown. Marcia tells us the classic tale of Stone Soup in a cute, kid-friendly environment filled with loveable animals! Max and Molly are starving for food (and they’re pigs) when they discover a lively city on their journey filled with rats and dogs alike. Together they reunite the classy town and feast on Stone Soup! I love this book! It’s a good read!

If You Grew Up With George Washington by Ruth Belov Gross

I’m reading If You Grew Up With George Washington by Ruth Belov Gross. Ruth really explains all about our first president’s life-style in this heart-warming tale. You can almost feel yourself going back in time… all the way back into 1732. My favorite part in this novel was when it explains what happened when you got sick.  The doctors had to use plants as medicene. Ruth is so good at explaining about how to cure the flu. George Washington plays a huge role in this book! Teachers, I would reccomend this book for your students!
I loved it! Your kids will never get bored reading this illustrated book!

The Fish Classes by Rebecca Stefoff

The Fish Classes I read The Fish Classes by Rebecca Stefoff.  Did you know that the electric eel can do 650 volts of electicity?  Or that a Paleontologist studies ancient life?  41% of known fish are fresh water fish?  I picked this book from the Library because I wanted to learn about fish and their bodies.  Time goes by quickly when you read this book.  The printing is regular size but it has a lot of words on a page.  It took me about 20 minutes to finish 2 to 3 pages.  So check this book out at the Mount Prospect Public Library.
